A compilation of my work from the past few years. If I've learned anything, it's that character animation is something I am head over heels for. Most of my work is frame by frame using Procreate, Photoshop, and After Effects shapes and lines to bring characters to life. But I've really loved doing FX animations and plan to incorporate more of them into my daily work. Looking forward to the next reel to see how much further I will grow as an animator.
Boundaries are important in any relationship. This animation explores the conversation of a young couple discussing theirs. Using hand drawn characters and frame by frame animation to give the piece an organic feeling, I tried to capture the excitement and nervous energy of young love.
Keeping yourself safe on the internet isn’t always easy. In this explainer, I tried to capture the frenetic energy of social media as young viewers learn about digital safety.
Looking out for each other is an important part of being a community. With this PSA I explored more cinematic techniques to ground the animation, keeping in mind the sensitive nature of the writing. I utilized hand drawn frame by frame and puppeted animation in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects to bring this narrative to life.
For a very important explainer about Perceptual Narrowing, I utilized frame by frame animation along with motion graphics to leave a lasting impact in viewers.
I love working on explainers to help break down complex topics in an effort to make them easier to understand. Here is one I created to explore the negative affect Past Salary hiring practices can have on employees.
As a Designer, I am continually growing and learning. I have always made it a point to seek out growth and my favorite learning experience lately has been through School of Motion's Explainer Camp. This course was a great opportunity to work from script to final product and really examine my workflow and client interfacing strategies. Here is my final piece, a 30 second ad-spot for fictional company Mombi.
For a piece about stress reduction for high school students I designed a handful of characters and animated their soothing processes frame by frame in Adobe Photoshop.
After being assigned to recreate an opening title scene from a movie of my choice, I knew that I wanted to challenge myself to recreate the opening credits for The Triplets of Belleville. Using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects I created a title that I felt best communicated the theme and beauty of such a wonderful movie.
